Call on Congress To Put Aside Partisan Divisions At State of the Union
Sign the Petition:
Dear Congress,
In recent years, the tenor of political debate in Washington has become increasingly partisan and corrosive. Nowhere is this more apparent than at the President's State of the Union addresses, where tradition dictates that members of Congress are separated by political party – one side of the chamber cheering and applauding loudly, while the other side often sits silent. I support Senator Mark Udall's call for Congress to bridge the partisan divide by sitting together at the State of the Union address as a symbolic gesture to signify unity and better reflect the communities they represent.
Sincerely,
